1-inch ORALITE V92 High-Intensity Reflective TapeManufactured by Orafol, these tapes are commonly used for color-coding fire hydrants to flow rates. They utilize internal cube-corner microprisms to provide a brilliant reflection and provide exceptional brightness even when viewed at angles low to their surface. Daybright V92 has a distinctive triangular weld pattern and is tough, yet flexible enough to wrap around bicycle tubing. Thickness is 5 mils and they have a 5-year warranty. Reflected brightness depends on color, and ranges from 2.7 to 4.4 times that of typical engineering grade reflective material. The order of decreasing brightness is silver, yellow, orange, red, green, and blue. Uses include color-coding municipal fire hydrants to their flow rates (see NFPA color code to left). They are used on emergency vehicles, respirator tanks, motorcycles, bicycles, rural mailboxes, gates, and bollards. Silver-white works great with infra-red range finders.
